Paint correction is a process used in car detailing to improve the appearance of a vehicle’s paint by removing imperfections and defects. The primary goal of paint correction is to restore the paintwork to a flawless or near-flawless condition, enhancing its clarity, depth, and gloss.
What are we removing?
Visible swirl marks to the naked eye & non visible to the naked eye, scratches, oxidation, water spots, swirls and other blemishes.
The paint correction process typically involves the following steps:
Assessment: We will assess the whole vehicle, looking at what places need more work than others, we will use a paint measuring gauge to measure the depth of the paint on every panel, so we know which deep imperfections we can remove without compromising on the longevity of the paintwork.
Washing: The vehicle undergoes a thorough chemical decontamination wash to remove stuck contaminants, grease, tar, bug splatters, acid & many other things. By completing this, we have a raw surface to work on. This is vital, as it ensures that the correction process begins with a clean surface & you achieve best results.
Physical decontamination ( if needed ) : We move to physical decontamination if chemical was not enough to remove the embedded contaminants and pollutants from the paint surface, providing a smooth canvas for the start of paint correction.
Machine Polishing: We use the latest technology when it comes to machine polishing, which is a random orbital dual action polisher – By using this, it protects your paintwork from any potential human errors, such as too much pressure, paint burning, e.t.c. – Dependent on what package you choose, you can have a single stage, bi-stage & even tri-stage machine polish to boost clarity of the paintwork & increase the gloss factor.
Coating/Sealing: As the pores are open on the paintwork now & we want to protect the work done, increase the longevity of the paintwork, we have a choice to apply one of our special waxes which moisturise the paintwork, increases the gloss & clarity & gives you max 3 week protection. Additionally you can opt for our coatings, which work for 24 months+. By going for a coating, it has self cleaning properties, you attain water beading, it is easier to wash the car next time, uv protection & you’re really maximising the gloss and clarity. The coating needs maintenance, to make sure it is working at its full potential, so therefore we offer a maintenance wash which you can do once every 4-6 weeks dependent on use & other factors.
This is a professional process, we are trained, & experienced to bring your paintwork back to life by following these stages. Get in touch now to get more information & a free quote on your vehicle.
